🎃 A Spooktacular Success: The EKDA’s Halloween Weekend! 👻
The EKDA just wrapped up its most thrilling event of the year—a jam-packed Halloween Weekend that brought ghoulish fun, creativity, and community spirit to the campsite! Starting on Wednesday and running through Sunday, the meet was a resounding success, raising money for a great cause and creating unforgettable memories for all ages.
🗓 Kicking Off the Festivities
The fun began quietly on Wednesday as the meet officially opened, allowing members to set up their caravans and prepare for the weekend ahead. By Thursday evening, the excitement was brewing with an evening dedicated to the youngest members. The hall hosted interactive kids' games followed by a spooky Halloween movie, getting everyone into the festive spirit.
🎨 Crafting, Bidding, and Dancing!
Friday was a bustling day, starting with a morning of kids' arts and crafts. Later that afternoon, the atmosphere shifted to a highly anticipated event: a big auction! Members bid generously, successfully raising vital funds for the upcoming Christmas meet. The evening concluded with a fantastic party, featuring music from our very own "Ibiza Sounds" DJ’s Phil and Jenny, who had everyone on their feet.
🏆 The Big Day: Costumes, Carving, and Competition
Saturday was the centerpiece of the weekend. The morning was dedicated to more festive kids' arts and crafts, including cake decoration, bracelet making, tattoos, and other Halloween-themed creations.
At 12 o'clock, things got competitive with the annual pumpkin carving contest! Members gathered outside the Chairman's RV, where everyone carved their best spooky designs to be entered for a chance to win a prize.
As evening fell, the park transformed. At 6 pm, the children, decked out in amazing costumes, began the traditional trick-or-treating circuit. The caravans themselves were part of the show, having been elaborately decorated by their owners. The night culminated in an unforgettable adults' Halloween disco. With fantastic music from "Ibiza Sounds" once again, the adults joined in the fun, putting on their own costumes and competing to have the most spectacularly decorated table.
☕ A Fond Farewell and Winners' Circle
The weekend drew to a close on Sunday morning with the traditional coffee morning. This final gathering was the moment of truth, as the prize winners from the pumpkin carving and costume competitions were announced. The event concluded with the drawing of the highly anticipated raffle winners, leaving everyone with a smile, a full heart, and a fantastic amount of money raised for the club's next big event.
The EKDA truly knows how to celebrate, proving once again that a friendly community and a bit of spooky spirit make for an absolutely brilliant weekend!
