Slough Fort

  • Slough Fort The Brimp Rochester, England, ME3 9QD what3words: (map)

Slough Fort sits right on the Thames Estuary at Allhallows and makes a great spot for a relaxed meet over the Bank Holiday weekend. The estuary here gives real sandy and stony beach side vibes, perfect for gentle walks, fresh air, and watching the water. The fort itself is a restored Victorian coastal defence, and guided tours are available at a small extra cost if you fancy learning more about its history and having a look around inside.

During the weekend there is access to a 24 hour toilet, a communal fire pit, and some indoor space available.

The site sits next to Haven Kent Coast Holiday Park, with access through a coded gate. This gives you the option to make use of their food outlets (such as Burger King, Papa Johns, Fish & Chips etc.), a Wetherspoon, and a play park, along with other paid activities if you wish, including an aerial adventure, crazy golf, fishing lake and more. Please note this does not include use of the swimming pool or clubhouse, which are exclusive to Haven customers.

If you’re looking to explore a bit further, there’s plenty nearby. Within a short drive you’ll find Fenn Bell Zoo, which makes a great family day out, as well as the Isle of Grain coastal walks, offering wide estuary views and peaceful walking routes.

With coastal scenery, interesting history, and a relaxed social feel, this meet is ideal for those looking for a quiet coastal break over the Bank Holiday weekend.
