Online Bookings

The noticeable increase in EKDA camping is great news but it brings with it additional challenges managing bookings and payments. As you are aware, your committee are volunteers with busy lives and as such we need to simplify our procedures. We also need to resolve the problem of camper ‘no-shows’ which deny others the opportunity to camp at the busier meets.

Accelerated by the pandemic, online transactions are becoming the new norm and in line with this EKDA will be moving to online booking, starting with the upcoming New Year Meet and continuing into 2022. New Year 𝗮𝘃𝗮𝗶𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝗻𝗼𝘄 and events for 2022 will be added in the coming months.

Bookings can be made via our website www.eastkentda.com using the ‘Book Online’ tab on the top menu. Payment will be taken at the time of booking and you will receive a confirmation email with 2 attachments, one a pdf of your booking and the 2nd, a '.pkpass' for those who wish to add the ticket to the wallet app on their phones.

Payments are non-refundable unless due to exceptional circumstances, (such as medical conditions), and will be issued at the discretion of the committee. Should an event need to be cancelled a full refund will be issued.

Those without internet access can continue to use the paper booking form, posted to the address on the form. Additionally, for most events members will still be allowed to turn up and pay on the day if there are spaces, but we strongly recommend checking availability before you leave by calling the stewards phone (07444 750150).

Most importantly, starting with the New Year Meet, we will no longer accept bookings via the bookingseastkentda@gmail.com / ‘contact us’ on the website / Facebook comment / private message to a committee member or passing comment on the way out of a field… (you can see why we are having issues!).

Thank you for your cooperation and understanding, hopefully, this system will prove beneficial to both the committee and members alike.

EKDA Committee Update

Dave and Michelle Clarkson along with Sarah Embleton have decided to step down from the EKDA committee, relinquishing their roles as Chairman, Treasurer, and Regalia Officer respectively. On behalf of the DA as a whole, we’d like to thank them all for their incredible efforts over the past 18 months. Their work behind the scenes has meant the DA not only continued to operate but has flourished, offering many of us the opportunity to camp during the most difficult of times.

We’d like to welcome two new members to the EKDA Committee;

We are delighted to welcome back 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗛𝗮𝘆𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱 who will be stepping into the role of Chairman. A familiar face at meets, she brings with her many years of experience with the DA committee.

𝗣𝗵𝗶𝗹 𝗪𝗮𝗹𝘀𝗵 joins us as Treasurer. Phil is a regular at meets as well as an experienced steward so will be a valuable asset to our team.

We’re sure you will want to join us in welcoming Heather and Phil and wish them well as they settle into their new roles. In the meantime, we ask for your ongoing patience and understanding as we continue to navigate the challenges of running events as we hopefully begin to ease out of the pandemic.
