EKDA Committee Update

Dave and Michelle Clarkson along with Sarah Embleton have decided to step down from the EKDA committee, relinquishing their roles as Chairman, Treasurer, and Regalia Officer respectively. On behalf of the DA as a whole, we’d like to thank them all for their incredible efforts over the past 18 months. Their work behind the scenes has meant the DA not only continued to operate but has flourished, offering many of us the opportunity to camp during the most difficult of times.

We’d like to welcome two new members to the EKDA Committee;

We are delighted to welcome back 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗛𝗮𝘆𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱 who will be stepping into the role of Chairman. A familiar face at meets, she brings with her many years of experience with the DA committee.

𝗣𝗵𝗶𝗹 𝗪𝗮𝗹𝘀𝗵 joins us as Treasurer. Phil is a regular at meets as well as an experienced steward so will be a valuable asset to our team.

We’re sure you will want to join us in welcoming Heather and Phil and wish them well as they settle into their new roles. In the meantime, we ask for your ongoing patience and understanding as we continue to navigate the challenges of running events as we hopefully begin to ease out of the pandemic.

East Kent DA AGM Saturday 3rd April at 11am

As directed by the Camping and Caravanning Club HQ, the 2021 AGM for EKDA must be held “virtually”. The date and time will remain as published in the Club magazine. The number of attendees on line is limited, but must be a quorum of 15 EKDA members. This number includes the Committee (maximum of 10). EKDA Members who wish to participate in the virtual AGM should register their interest at the earliest opportunity by emailing the secretary on Members must include name, membership number and membership expiry date, and if possible a photo of their current membership card.

The AGM agenda, reports and 2020 minutes are available CLICK HERE. These can also be e-mailed to all who express an interest in attending the AGM if required. Nomination forms for more committee members were submitted to the secretary by the advertised date. We are pleased to report that all vacancies have been filled and no more nominations will be accepted. In view of the difficulty in holding a virtual AGM, the meeting will not include the traditional ‘open forum’. Alternatively, the committee asks that all questions on the reports, and matters which members would like the committee to address, should be submitted in writing to the Secretary no later than 15th March.

The AGM minutes and any changes to committee positions will be published on our web site and Facebook, as soon after the meeting as possible.

Details for joining the virtual meeting (on Zoom) will be sent
